This course covers all aspects of speech-writing: opening, closing, organization, audience, rhetorical style, etc.  Examples are drawn from Lend Me Your Ears: Great Speeches in History edited by William Safire, containing over 230 speeches.  The course is written from a secular perspective, but some of the speeches touch on religious themes.
